AI Visibility Check

Five questions your board will ask about AI.

One license can carry two very different risks. A sales team drafting emails and an HR team summarizing an investigation may use the same assistant, but they touch different data and affect different people. Count uses, not tools.

Score each question 1 to 4. It takes about five minutes. Your answers stay in this browser tab. Nothing is sent or stored.

  1. 01
    What AI do we use?

Every business use, not just the tools we pay for. Count the assistant in the email client and the feature a vendor turned on last quarter.

  2. 02
    Who owns each use?

A named business owner for each use, someone who answers for what it does. Not the vendor and not IT by default.

  3. 03
What data does each use touch?

Customer records, employee files, financials, contracts. Which uses read it, which keep it, and which send it somewhere else.

  4. 04
Which uses can act on their own?

Uses that send, approve, change, or delete without a person signing off first, and what they are allowed to reach.

  5. 05
    What don't we know?

The gaps we can name: uses we suspect but cannot confirm, owners we assume, data flows nobody has traced.

The next step

The AI Use Register is the written next step on this site: one row per business use, a named owner, the data it touches, who it affects, whether it can act on its own, and what is still unknown. The AI Governance Framework is free if you want the structure first. AI Use Register. AI Governance Framework.
